What do you value?
I just missed the train. Close enough to touch it almost. 12 minutes of frigid air but it is invigorating in a way.
My family thinks there’s something wrong with me, which isn’t news. They want me to be normal, I guess. A normal apartment with a couch, coffee table and end tables. [...]

My Guitar Voice
I am excited. Why is this text red? One sec.
Okay, now it’s blue. Okay, that’s better. So yeh. I’m excited. Sexually speaking. No, I’m kidding. I’m musically excited.
I had a run of bad tech luck this week. I bought a new external hard drive to back up my old external hard drive and when I [...]

How to right real good.
I’ve been thinking about this some more. Last time around I mentioned two traits of good writing: detail and rhythm and then I got a little philosophical. Detail entails being descriptive and one of the most effective ways to be descriptive is by using similes and metaphors. Should those be plural?
Simile & Metaphor
Do you remember [...]

Israel “Iz” Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole
Have you heard this? Check it out.
Black Stuff
On my way to work on Saturday I realized that it was Black History Month. Not that I usually do anything out of the ordinary. But I had one of my flashbacks and remembered someone’s statement on a radio program I [...]

The State of Music
And welcome back to my fictitious radio program, The Future of Music. It is pledge season here at WSTFY. We rely on you, the listener, to keep us afloat. I know times are tough, but whatever you can spare.

The Double Fisted Diet
This blog entry is going to require user participation. So if you’re reading this while you’re driving … well, you’re probably already nestled in a ditch or snugly wrapped around a stout tree trunk or maybe you’ve been ejected through the side window and are enjoying a comforting episode of unconsciousness. I’ll wait. Okay, that’s [...]

How to Writ e Good
I like to write. Heck, I love to write.
I’m not very disciplined about it. I feel like it would take a lot more time than I devote to it to be an accomplished author. I wish someone would give me a year’s salary and say, “Okay, Mr. Young. In six months we want a book [...]

Tolerance & Intolerance
I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties. Mainly because of work. And I should be working right now, but I just can’t concentrate. At least not yet. I keep misspelling things, doing the same things repeatedly, zoning out. I can’t concentrate and I’m exhausted. I’ll do this for a while and see if I get a [...]
