Okay, it’s not really a new song. It’s about 5 or 6 years old and I think I posted it somewhere before. This is tighter and hopefully better. I’m trying to think of a performer to sell it to. That’s a joke, kind of. Whenever I write something I try to figure out what artist (famous or otherwise) it fits.
The music is catchy, if nothing else. Using some samples/loops in there to add some flavor.
Aside from being ashamed of the vocals on the previous recording of this, I’ve been struggling with the lyrics. I had some nice imagery but it was … a little on the pornographic side to be honest. It wasn’t meant to be but it could easily be taken that way. Not subtle enough for my tastes.
It could use more polish and a few do-overs. But you know what? After 5 or 6 years I’m tired of it just sitting around being in/on my brain so here it is. For better or worse. You know how I do. I post and then tweak and then regret and then say, “Screw it. Let it ride.”
Can anyone guess the song that inspired the lyrics? Or after I wrote them I thought, “Huh. That reminds me of –.”
I will put a check mark next to “record a song” in my list of things I wanted to do with my week off. Not many things got checked off. But this counts.
(And there was much pitch correcting. And the people rejoiced. “Yeeeeeaah.”)
